Task 5: Pre - Production documents

During the Duration of making my Music video, I have to fill out a number of pre production documents. This allows me to understand and be more organised when it comes to actually shooting the video. I have a number of documents that i have to complete, and they are the following:

  • Proposal *
  • Productions schedule part 1 *
  • Location visit *
  • Call sheet *
  • contact details *
  • Contingency plan *
  • Meeting record sheet *
  • Risk assessment *
  • Production Budget *
  • Shooting schedule    *
Risk Assessment - I have to complete a risk assessment so that I know the potential risks whilst filming. It helps me know how I can overcome the risks involved and what i should do to prevent them. It also has emergency contact numbers, of the emergency services, Robert Clack school and also the numbers of the crew members involved with the process of making this music video.

Production Budget

My Production Budget allows me to see how much money I have and what items I need to have in order to film my video, this includes the camera and how much the set will cost. It has a total budget which I need to get to have all the essential items that I need.

Shooting schedule

By having a shooting schedule it allows my crew to know what is required for day that we will be shooting on, for example, the location, props and costumes etc. By having this it will help us to be more organised just by looking at it.

Proposal

The proposal for this project, is a introduction on what I am going to do which is of course a music video. Here it is below:

Contact Details

One of the production sheets is the contact details of the members of the crew, this includes me and the actors. On the this sheet i will have the crew members mobile numbers, so i could get hold of them when i need them and their home number's just incase i cant get in contact with them if one of the two are not working.

Contingency Plan

for this sheet, It asks me what problems there can be and how i can overcome these problems. I highlighted the potential problems that are involved with the entire production of the music video and I gave my answer on to how resolve it. By doing this i can look back at the sheet if i think any problems will occur and i will automatically know what procedures to take if they did occur.

Call Sheet

The call sheet is a plan in which allows my crew to know what they are going to be doing on that particular date, for example how to get to the filming location what types of transport you can get what time and the date of the day that we will be shooting the music video. The actors will also know what type of clothing they will be expected to be wearing on the day and what props they will be using so they can rehearse for the scene. Here is a call sheet that my crew used for the first day of shooting.

Location vist sheet

By having this sheet it allows me and the members of the crew to know where we ill be filming and the location of it, this will also include names of the roads and the areas that we will be shooting and the surrounding environment. This is because it will make it much easier for the crew members to find the location.

Production schedule

A production schedule allows me to narrow down when I will get everything finished on the music video, this involves the programme and the final piece of work that I deliver to the client. It is also like a target sheet, saying when i will get everything completed by, and the date i actually have completed them.

Meeting record

For the meeting record me and Larissa came up with many ideas for the music video that i was going to produce, as the actor Larissa added some very good points that was useful and we moulded it into what the music video is today.

Storyboard

The reason why me and my filming crew met up one day and decided to create a storyboard. By doing this we put our final idea down on to a storyboard so it will make it more clear and easier to look at what scene comes after what and what the scenes will look like. It also gives us the space to come up with some additional notes that we can look at to help us get a better insight into that exact shot.

Here is the complete storyboard in one picture.

- Here is the first scene. In this scene our actors will be walking down a path towards the camera and Larissa will be singing to Emanuel whilst he is ignoring her, and she will be frustrated by this

- Here is the second scene. In this scene the actors will be sitting at a table in a restaurant and she will be singing the lines "we can settle at a table, a table for two" and yet again Emanuel will be ignoring her.

- In this scene as the song goes on they will be getting along, being an ordinary couple visiting the park and sitting in the shade.
- This shot will be of Larissa and it will be amid shot with a white background with her singing to the camera.
- In the song there is a lyric that says "we can raise a chile, wont you raise a child with me" and this shot will be of Larissa pushing a buggy through a busy street.
- When the beat drops in, this shot will contain Larissa dancing to the beat.
- In this shot, they will be arguing with each other, and not being the couple that She wants them to be.
- Like the above shot, they will be back to back ignoring one another as time goes on, things get worse for them as a couple.
- Once again there will be a shot of Larissa singing the lyrics and dancing and it will be quickly edited so it matches the tempo of the song.
- In this scene it will be the couple flirting and getting along well.
_ In this shot, it will have Larissa dancing but it will be her dancing and her outfits will be changing and once again matching the style of the beat behind the song.

 - this is the last shot. For this shot it will have the two actors walking away from where they begun in the music video but instead of him ignoring her, he will have his arm around her showing that their relationship is good and how she wants it to be.
