Understanding copyright

Understanding Copyright

Copyright is when a law that gives the creator of an original piece of work exclusive rights to use it. In other words you cannot copy that particular piece of without seeking permission of the the creator.

For my music video I will have to ask permission from the artist who's song that I am going to use. Copyright stops you from getting credit from the work or in this case the song. It is a very important issue thats need to be taken into consideration and I have to overcome the rules and regulations by getting permission first.

You can do this by doing many different things such as writing to the artist, emailing the artist or using social network sites such as twitter to try and contact the artist. Also if you do not have permission from the artist and you upload your music video to youtube it can be removed from the site.

This is purely because you have not got permission and it would be breaking the law if they did not take action against the video that you would have produced. Here is a image of a video that has been removed from youtube because of the copyright law.
